As a result, the city will receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award and a special grant of 40 million won.
The comprehensive evaluation of address policy implementation, conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for local governments nationwide, was established to identify and share exemplary cases of address policy and to utilize them as policy resources.
According to the city, the evaluation covered a total of 22 items across 10 areas, including management and expansion of address information facilities, promotion, building address efficiency, and strengthening the functionality of road name addresses.
The city replaced 2,242 outdated building number plates that had been in use for over 10 years, and installed 33 national point number plates and 612 object address plates to ensure rapid location guidance in emergencies.
In particular, to create a safe nighttime walking environment for women and the elderly, the city installed 64 CPTED LED building number plates, and solar-powered LED national point number plates along the coast to prevent accidents during Haerujil.
Mayor Lee Wanseop said, "As a result of our efforts to build safety infrastructure for citizens, we have received this award and secured a special grant," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that citizens experience no inconvenience when using road name addresses."
