They also discussed with the KBO the expansion of professional baseball infrastructure through the construction of a dome stadium.
Paju City plans to establish a dedicated task force (TF) team for the dome stadium project through an organizational restructuring effective January 1, 2025, and will begin feasibility studies. This meeting was arranged as a step to open cooperation with the Korea Baseball Organization regarding the city's dome stadium initiative.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City stated, “I expect this meeting with Commissioner Heo Goo-yeon to be the first step toward Paju becoming a sports and cultural complex city. With the establishment of a dedicated team through the organizational restructuring, we will carefully review and promote the project to ensure its practical implementation.”
