Democratic Party Urges Passage of Yoon Impeachment Motion on 14th
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the morning of the 12th regarding the statement announced by President Yoon Seok-yeol, "I think the public must have been very surprised," and added, "We will do our best to quickly manage the situation."
Leader Lee made these remarks to reporters on his way back to the National Assembly after a meeting with Archbishop Jeong Soon-taek on the morning of the 12th. Earlier, when meeting Archbishop Jeong at the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul in Jung-gu, Seoul, he said, "Politics is about allowing our people to live their daily lives comfortably, but it seems to be troubling the people instead, so I feel sorry as a member of society."

Spokesperson Han added, "The Archbishop also expressed agreement and said, 'The religious community will do its part to promote unity.'" He also said, "Both expressed concern, wondering if this is not encouraging division and extremism rather than unity."
