President Yoon Appears to Form Legal Team in Preparation for 'Emergency Martial Law Investigation'
Proposals from Former Prosecutor Kim Hong-il and Close Legal Associates
Including Lawyers from the Presidential Office Legal Secretary's Office
It was reported on the 10th that President Yoon Seok-yeol is preparing to appoint legal representation after being registered as a suspect on charges including insurrection related to the emergency martial law situation and having a travel ban imposed.
According to the legal and political circles, President Yoon's side is reportedly considering forming a defense team centered around legal professionals familiar with the president, including former Broadcasting and Communications Commissioner Kim Hong-il, who is a former prosecutor. Lawyer A, a former administrative officer of the Presidential Office Legal Secretary in the current administration, as well as another mid-level law firm, have also reportedly been offered to take on the case. Lawyer A previously served as the legal representative in the case involving President Yoon's spouse, Kim Geon-hee, and the luxury handbag incident.
