Prosecutor Son Junsung in 'Accusation Instigation Suspicion' Found Not Guilty in Appeal Trial
1st Trial: 1 Year Imprisonment, Overturned in Appeal Trial
Prosecutor Son Joon-sung, who was sentenced to one year in prison in the first trial over the 'Gobal Saju' allegations, was acquitted in the second trial.
On the 6th, the Seoul High Court Criminal Division 6-1 (Presiding Judges Jung Jae-oh, Choi Eun-jung, Lee Ye-seul) acquitted Prosecutor Son, who was indicted on charges including leaking official secrets.
The court did not accept the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office's claim that the messages were transmitted in the order of Prosecutor Son → former lawmaker Kim Woong → whistleblower Cho Sung-eun, which was a key issue.
