Vehicle Fire on Haman Namhae Expressway... Man in His 60s Dies

View original imageAt around 3:49 a.m. on the 5th, a fire broke out in a vehicle parked on the shoulder near the Chilwon Junction on the Namhae Expressway heading towards Busan in Chilwon-eup, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province.
The vehicle was completely burned in the fire, causing an estimated property damage of about 30 million won according to the fire department.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was found dead.
The fire department, dispatched following a report from another driver who was driving by, deployed 32 personnel and 12 firefighting vehicles and extinguished the fire by around 4:14 a.m.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, it is presumed that the driver had gone to Seoul for work on the 4th and was on his way to Changwon.

The police and fire authorities believe the fire started on the passenger side of the vehicle and plan to request a vehicle inspection from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of the fire.
