The Gungjip Public Parking Lot construction project involves an investment of 17 billion KRW to build an underground parking lot with two basement levels and a total floor area of 4,275㎡ (106 parking spaces).
Namyangju City is promoting this project to improve accessibility and convenience for visitors to Gungjip, a national folk cultural heritage site, and plans to fully open it upon completion in 2025 to utilize it as a complex cultural and artistic space.
The Pyeongnae Sports and Cultural Facilities, pursued amid the long-standing wishes of residents, is a complex facility project equipped with a swimming pool, a multipurpose indoor gymnasium, and cultural classrooms. It is expected to serve as a hub supporting residents' sports and cultural activities.
In addition, Mayor Joo visited the Pyeongnae Snow and Ice Countermeasure Headquarters to inspect the status of snow removal equipment and material procurement and received a report on the snow removal operation plan.
Previously, on the 27th and 28th of last month, during a heavy snow advisory, an average snowfall of 21.75 cm and a maximum of 30 cm (in Hopyeong-dong) were recorded.
The city has designated the snow and ice countermeasure period until March next year, operating 10 snow and ice forward bases within the jurisdiction with the Pyeongnae Snow and Ice Countermeasure Headquarters as the control tower. Additionally, it has secured 89 snow removal vehicles and 10,045 tons of snow removal agents to minimize inconvenience to citizens.
