At this event, Mayor Lee Chung-woo received a report on the heavy snowfall damage status in the Yeoju area, listened to the difficulties of the affected farmers, and promised prompt restoration support.
In the agricultural sector, damages were recorded at 1.4 billion KRW for facility vinyl greenhouses and 400 million KRW for ginseng cultivation facilities. In the livestock sector, there were 99 damaged livestock barns and losses of 3 hectares and 33,008 heads (33,000 broilers and 8 dairy cows). In particular, many damages occurred to flower, melon, and vegetable cultivation facilities, requiring swift restoration. Access to ginseng cultivation facilities is difficult, causing delays in damage reporting from farms outside the area, so the damaged area may increase further.
