Sangmyung University and Korea Football Association to Run Korea-ASEAN Field Sports Medical Education Program
Sangmyung University announced on the 22nd that it will operate the Korea-ASEAN Field Sports Medicine Education Program until the 29th.
This program is part of the Korea-ASEAN Football Human Resource Education and Leadership Development Project by the Korea Football Association and is the largest international sports medicine education project conducted in Korea.
Twenty participants, including doctors, physical therapists, and athletic trainers from ten ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, have completed the theoretical phase through online sports medicine education over the past year. They will now participate in advanced lectures and practical training at Sangmyung University.
The education covers a variety of topics, including sports medicine, training & conditioning, and injury prevention and treatment. Specialized lectures and hands-on training have also been arranged so that participants can observe real-world applications at the Seongnam FC clubhouse and Sejong Sports Orthopedic Clinic.
In particular, the AI and digital technology-based education program, jointly conducted by Sangmyung University and SYM Healthcare, is expected to provide opportunities to understand and practically utilize the latest trends in sports medicine.
President Hong Sungtae said, "This project is an opportunity for Sangmyung University to open a new chapter in the fields of international sports medicine and football leadership," adding, "It is meaningful that Korea and ASEAN countries can provide a platform for mutual exchange and cooperation to grow together in the field of sports medicine."
