Musk, who has openly supported Trump, posted a photoshopped image on X (formerly Twitter) showing himself holding a sink in the White House Oval Office, captioned "Let that sink in." The phrase 'sink in' is an idiom meaning 'to make someone realize or fully understand something.'
This post recalls the time when Musk carried a sink into the headquarters of Twitter in San Francisco last year when he acquired the company. Musk had posted a video of that moment on X with the same caption. Considering that it was meant to announce his imminent acquisition and new ownership of Twitter, this time it can be interpreted as signaling a change of ownership at the White House.
It is reported that Musk pledged to donate a total of $180 million (approximately 251 billion KRW) to Trump’s campaign from July to October, contributing $45 million (about 62.8 billion KRW) each month. According to the U.S. Federal Election Commission, Musk’s donations to the Trump campaign during the election period amounted to at least $132 million (about 184.1 billion KRW). He was so passionate about the campaign that he even held an event offering a daily prize of $1 million (about 1.39 billion KRW) to encourage conservative voters to vote. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk’s net worth is $270.7 billion (approximately 377.49 trillion KRW), ranking him first in the world.
