Sharing Life Through Blood Donation, Connecting Students' Dreams with Hope
The Korean Red Cross Busan Blood Center held the '2024 Blood Donation Voucher Sharing Scholarship Award Ceremony' with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education on the 4th.
The Blood Donation Voucher Sharing Scholarship Project is a program that supports scholarships for low-income high school students using funds donated by blood donors who choose to donate the equivalent amount instead of receiving souvenirs after donating blood.
Over the past three years, the Busan Blood Center has conducted the Blood Donation Voucher Sharing Scholarship Project to share life through blood donation and uphold the spirit of voluntary unpaid blood donation, providing scholarships to support the academic advancement and livelihood of low-income children to nurture young talents.
In the first half of 2024, 30 students from 30 high schools were selected and awarded 1 million KRW each, totaling 30 million KRW. In the second half, 28 students from 28 schools received 28 million KRW. Since the project began in 2022, a total of 118 students have received scholarships, with cumulative scholarship funds reaching 118 million KRW.
