Dong-A University College of Engineering Hosts Special Lecture by Park Se-cheol, Chairman of Oriental Jeonggong
"How Should We Live?" Theme, "I Hope My Story Helps Even One of You Juniors"
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) hosted a special lecture by Park Se-cheol, chairman of Oriental Junggong, at the ‘2024 Academic Year College of Engineering Colloquium’.
The special lecture held on the 30th of last month at Kyungdong Hall on Dong-A University Seunghak Campus was attended by Lee Jung-jae, dean of the College of Engineering; vice deans Park Seong-hyeok and Park Gang-hyo; Lee Mu-yeon, head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; professors Yeom Jeong-guk and Han Seung-ho; Park Young-il, head of the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering; as well as about 200 students from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering.
During the lecture, Chairman Park Se-cheol spoke on the theme ‘How Should We Live?’ sharing his life story and the know-how of rising from an employee to an owner.
He said, “I stood here with courage hoping that by sharing my life story, it might help you even in one way when you go out into society someday. I live with a heart that loves myself and is thankful in all things.”
Chairman Park Se-cheol graduated from Dong-A University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and joined Oriental Junggong in 1989. He has served as head of the overseas business division, vice president, and has been CEO since 2014, dedicating nearly 40 years to the company.
Oriental Junggong, established in 1980, is a specialized company in shipbuilding and marine equipment, holding the number one market share in domestic ship cranes.

Earlier, in September, Chairman Park Se-cheol donated 100 million KRW to Dong-A University’s development fund, stating, “It is the company’s fundamental duty to practice ESG management to enhance sustainability in modern management and to contribute a small part to the development of my alma mater.”
