Busan Office of Education Enhances Teachers' Autonomous Curriculum Design Competence
Operation of 'Connecting Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment' Training Visiting Schools
Focus on Establishing Question-Based Classes, Learning, and Growth-Supportive Assessment in Practice
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) will operate the on-site, close-contact training program "Connecting Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment" for all elementary schools in the region until the 13th of next month.
Now in its second year, this training aims to enhance teachers' curriculum literacy and develop their autonomous and flexible curriculum design capabilities in school settings.
Busan Office of Education is conducting the training under the theme of "Deep Learning." Based on an understanding of the 2022 revised subject curriculum, the focus is on the practical establishment of "questioning instruction" and "assessment that supports learning and growth" in the field.
The training is conducted by "core teachers" working in pairs who visit schools. They will provide customized training that offers practical assistance in lesson and assessment design for on-site teachers.
To ensure smooth operation of this training, the Office of Education completed preparation by conducting a capacity-building training session for 100 core teachers in curriculum, instruction, and assessment at the Busan Education Research and Information Center on the 29th of last month.
Through this training, Busan Office of Education expects to enhance teachers' curriculum expertise and realize student-tailored education, thereby increasing satisfaction with public education.
