Man in His 40s Turns Himself In to Police After Keeping Father's Body in Freezer for Over a Year
70-Year-Old Father's Body Found but Death Report Not Filed
A man in his 40s turned himself in to the police after hiding the body of his father, who was in his 70s, in a freezer for over a year without reporting his death.
The Icheon Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 2nd that they have booked the man, identified as A, in his 40s, on suspicion of corpse concealment and are investigating him without detention.
A is suspected of wrapping his father B's body in plastic and hiding it in a freezer. A discovered his father had passed away when he visited his father's home, where he lived alone, last September.
It is understood that A stated he delayed reporting B's death due to issues related to inheritance.
A turned himself in to the police station with a lawyer the previous afternoon. Relatives reportedly filed a missing person report for A with the police earlier this year.
