Hydrogen Day Held... Lee Sung-jae, SPG CEO, Awarded Industrial Medal
On the 1st, the Hydrogen Day ceremony, elevated to a statutory commemorative day starting this year through the amendment of the "Act on the Promotion of Hydrogen Economy and Hydrogen Safety Management (Hydrogen Act)" last October, was held at Sebitseom in Seoul, attended by about 300 people including Minister An Deok-geun of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and hydrogen-related industry, academia, and research representatives.
Hydrogen Day, initiated to spread social consensus on the hydrogen economy and encourage hydrogen industry workers, marks its third year this year. Starting this year, various preliminary events were held to provide opportunities for mutual exchange and cooperation among domestic and international hydrogen companies on the occasion of the ceremony, including the H2 Business Summit, conference, international clean hydrogen forum, business meetings between companies, and an exhibition of exterior designs of upcoming domestic hydrogen car models.

At the Hydrogen Day ceremony, awards were given to 50 meritorious individuals who contributed to the activation of the hydrogen economy and industrial promotion. Lee Seong-jae, chairman of SPG Hydrogen, and Moon Il, professor at Yonsei University, received the Industrial Medal and the Order of Service Merit, respectively. Baek Woon-bong, principal researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, received the Presidential Citation, and Samcheok City was awarded the Prime Minister's Citation.
