'November 1 is Hanwoo Eating Day'... Hanwoo Grand Festival Nationwide

On November 1st, designated as 'Hanwoo Eating Day,' Hanwoo discount events and grilling festivals will be held across the country.

The Korea Hanwoo Association and the Hanwoo Fund Management Committee designated November 1st as 'Korea Hanwoo Eating Day,' inspired by the fact that the Chinese character for cow (牛) contains three instances of the number one (一), symbolizing that Hanwoo’s taste is the best.

A representative from the Hanwoo Association explained, "On this day, all citizens can enjoy Hanwoo at reasonable prices without burden, as Hanwoo farms nationwide serve Hanwoo meat to the public." They added, "The Korea Hanwoo Association uses the Hanwoo fund, which is collected from farms, to conduct large-scale Hanwoo meat discount events, free tasting sessions, and various other events."

Korean Beef Charcoal Grill Event.

The opening event for Korea Hanwoo Eating Day will be held from November 1st to 3rd at a special event venue in front of the Yangjae Nonghyup Hanaro Mart. The opening ceremony will feature the distribution of 300 servings of Hanwoo beef soup and a live cooking show by Chef Cha Min-wook. During the event period, there will be Hanwoo set auctions, Hanwoo 'OX quizzes,' surprise Hanwoo lotteries, tastings of Hanwoo bulgogi and Hanwoo Maekjeok burgers, and many other enjoyable activities. Additionally, Hanwoo will be sold at half price, with sirloin at 6,900 KRW per 100g for grade 1, and bulgogi and soup cuts at 2,500 KRW.

At the Namyangju Donong Sports Park, events will be held on November 2nd and 3rd. Activities will include sirloin tastings, a spinning wheel event, and singer performances. On-site, a Hanwoo grilling area will be operated where purchased Hanwoo can be grilled immediately, and customers will receive gifts such as beef bone soup, ox feet, and bulgogi. Hanwoo meat prices are 10,000 KRW per 100g for sirloin and striploin of grade 1+, and bulgogi is available for 3,300 KRW.

At Chuncheon City Hall Plaza, a Hanwoo festival will take place from November 1st to 3rd. The event will offer Hanwoo burger tastings, Hanwoo masks, Hanwoo soap making, and a Hanwoo cut matching game among various other activities. Customers who purchase Hanwoo will receive various gifts, and discounted Hanwoo sales will be offered at 8,510 KRW per 100g for grade 1 sirloin, 3,210 KRW for bulgogi, and 2,750 KRW for soup cuts.

At three sales locations in Cheongju?Cheongpungmyeongwol, Cheongwoo, and Cheongwon Hanwoo Masil?events will be held from November 1st to 3rd. Outside the stores, Hanwoo sirloin steak tastings will be available, and when purchasing grilling Hanwoo, cuts other than sirloin will be discounted by at least 15%, while meat cuts (bulgogi and soup cuts) will be discounted by at least 20%. Customers who spend over 100,000 KRW will also receive gifts.

At Sejong City Urban Symbol Plaza, events will continue from October 31st to November 3rd. Programs include sirloin tastings, lucky draw ticket raffles, and recreational activities. Hanwoo discount sales will offer grade 1 sirloin at 8,000 KRW per 100g and soup cuts at 2,500 KRW. A grilling area will also be operated on-site where purchased Hanwoo can be grilled over charcoal immediately.

At the Jeonbuk Provincial Office Multipurpose Plaza, a Hanwoo festival will be held from November 8th to 10th. The event will feature the distribution of 500 servings of Hanwoo beef soup, Hanwoo cooking classes, roulette and lucky draw ticket raffles, and various participatory programs. Additionally, tastings of Hanwoo burgers and steaks will be available.

At the Central Park in Samhyang-eup, Jeonnam, events will be held from November 1st to 3rd. There will be a variety of family-friendly experiences such as kimbap making, roulette, and instant quizzes, along with Hanwoo sirloin and bulgogi tastings.

At the entrance yard of Gyeongsan Sports Center, a Hanwoo event will be held from November 1st to 3rd. Hanwoo bulgogi burgers and Hanwoo steak tastings will be prepared, along with nostalgic arcade games, Hanwoo OX quizzes, and Hanwoo model clock making. Various events will be held, and a grilling area where purchased Hanwoo can be enjoyed immediately will also be operated.
