Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, to expedite the 'ruling and opposition party leaders' meeting.' This is the second prompt following Lee's public proposal to "meet" a week ago and Han's affirmative response, "Let's do it."
On the morning of the 30th at the National Assembly's Supreme Council meeting, Lee said, "I publicly speak to Leader Han once again," adding, "We agreed to meet and talk within last week, but there has been no news." He continued, "Political issues are piling up, and people's livelihoods are very difficult," and said, "I understand the awkward position, but since there are many important matters, we need to discuss them." He also remarked, "Changing one's words after saying something and then not following through is a typical Yeouido dialect," and expressed hope to "meet as quickly as possible and handle at least a few urgent issues."

He said, "Shouldn't we quickly abolish the Terminal Distribution Act as the Democratic Party has consistently insisted?" and added, "We both emphasize the need to raise the deposit insurance limit quickly to prevent risks." He further mentioned, "Leader Han has also met with regional committee heads within his party several times and promised, but for political equal opportunity, the district party offices must be reinstated."

After the meeting, spokesperson Hwang Jeong-ah told reporters, "In fact, the prevailing expectation was that the meeting would be arranged over the past weekend," and explained, "It was coordinated between the chiefs of staff, but they said they would discuss internally, and there has been no progress." She added, "We kept our schedules open and were waiting, but since there has been no further progress, we propose a prompt ruling and opposition party leaders' meeting," and said, "If they respond immediately at any time, the meeting can take place."
