Ministry of SMEs and Startups Hosts Matching Event for Venture Companies and Domestic and International SW Talent
Talent Matching Job Fair to Alleviate SW Workforce Shortage
To address the shortage of software (SW) personnel, 200 recruiting companies and over 3,000 job seekers in the SW development field will gather in one place.
On the 28th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will hold the "2024 Venture·Startup Talent Matching Festival" at COEX to resolve the SW personnel shortage in ventures and startups.
Now in its fourth year, the Talent Matching Festival will operate various programs under the theme "A New Journey Toward a Global Software Powerhouse."
Starting with the opening ceremony, on-site recruitment booths, online recruitment halls, overseas IT personnel recruitment halls, and the Tomorrow Design Hall will be operated. Trendy content tailored to the MZ generation will also be prepared to encourage participation and interest from job seekers and young professionals.
This event was prepared in collaboration with six related associations and organizations, including the Korea Venture Business Association, to enhance talent matching from the recruitment of participating companies. Approximately 200 SW personnel recruiting companies, over 3,000 job seekers in the SW development field, and 20 universities hosting the Venture·Startup Academy will participate.
So far, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has operated the Venture·Startup Academy, producing 4,305 graduates through 20 domestic universities and 8 private institutions. Among them, 2,043 have successfully found employment (as of September). The Ministry will award the Minister’s Prize to 30 outstanding students participating in this education program.

Deputy Minister Kim Seong-seop of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups said, “I hope that through this event, software development talents and participating companies will find the perfect opportunities for each other.” He added, “The Ministry will continue its efforts to nurture software personnel and will also strive to resolve the personnel shortage in ventures and startups by attracting excellent overseas software talents from countries such as India and Vietnam.”
