Student Hwang Young-ji Saves Elderly in 70s, Becomes First Hero in GTX-A Operation
Certificate of Appreciation Awarded to Student Hwang Young-ji for Preventing Major Accident through Prompt Response during GTX-A Operation
On September 26 at 5:25 PM, at Guseong Station, Hwang Young-ji quickly pressed the emergency stop button on the large escalator when a senior in their 70s lost balance and fell, then promptly informed station staff to handle the situation.
GTX-A Operation (CEO Jo Jin-hwan) announced that it has selected student Hwang Young-ji as a hero for her prompt response in preventing a major casualty during a safety accident involving a long escalator (E/S) at Guseong Station on the GTX-A line on the 26th of last month.
On September 26th at around 5:25 PM, while ascending the long escalator (E/S) at Guseong Station, student Hwang Young-ji noticed a senior citizen in their 70s losing balance and falling. She quickly pressed the emergency stop button of the escalator and immediately informed the station staff, thereby preventing a major casualty within the station. For this contribution, she was recognized as the first hero selected by GTX-A Operation Co., Ltd.
GTX-A Operation, a subsidiary of Seoul Metro (President Baek Ho), on October 24th, expressed gratitude and honored student Hwang Young-ji with a certificate of appreciation and a reward to acknowledge her righteous act that contributed to creating a safe metropolitan express railway and realizing social justice.
