Korea University Holds '2024 S3 Sustainability Forum' with Fudan University and National University of Singapore
Signing of MOU for Joint Research on Global Sustainability Issues
Korea University will hold the '2024 S3 Sustainability Forum' for two days starting from the 17th.
On the 16th, Korea University announced that it will host a forum to discuss global sustainability issues with academic experts from prestigious overseas universities and to establish collaborative research partnerships for future generations.
The forum is organized to discuss global sustainability issues such as climate change and ecosystem conservation among Korea University, Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and the National University of Singapore, representing Seoul, Shanghai, and Singapore respectively, with the goal of strengthening global research cooperation.
This event is a commemorative academic forum held by the three universities, all of which will celebrate their 120th anniversary next year. Starting with Korea University this year, the three universities will sequentially operate a joint research forum over three years.
The theme of the forum is "Towards a Better Future," and it will proceed with keynote presentations and discussions by faculty members in related fields.
On the first day, the 17th, the forum will begin with a welcoming speech by Korea University President Kim Dong-won, followed by a joint research agreement ceremony among Korea University, Fudan University, and the National University of Singapore. Afterwards, presentations by the presidents of each university will take place.
The second day, the 18th, will be organized into three sessions focusing on sustainable technology, cities, and policies.

Song Sang-gi, Director of International Affairs at Korea University, said, "It is a meaningful event where three leading Asian universities come together to discuss and find solutions to sustainability-related issues such as climate, environment, and energy. All three universities were founded in 1905 and will celebrate their 120th anniversary in 2025. We expect this forum to serve as a cornerstone for academic exchange and joint activation."
