The Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 11th that it has arrested the operator of a tenant business at Cheongju Airport on charges including fraud for embezzling rental fees.
Mr. A is accused of operating four stores within Cheongju Airport under other people's names and embezzling approximately 3 billion KRW in rental fees. Cheongju Airport sets rental fees linked to sales rather than fixed rents, and Mr. A is reported to have underpaid rent by omitting sales figures.
Currently, a total of eight commercial stores are operating at Cheongju Airport, and the business in question is said to have entered the airport around 2020.
