Busan Urban Corporation: 164 Domestic and International Travelers Enter 'Busan Travel Experience Essay Contest'
Higher Submission Rate Compared to Previous Contest
13% of Foreign Tourists from 14 Countries
Busan Urban Corporation Arpina recently completed the submission process for entries to the '2024 Busan Travel Experience Essay Contest'.
Now in its third year, the contest began accepting entries on August 1. As a result, a total of 164 travelers, including 22 foreigners, shared their own precious stories about Busan. This far exceeds the number of entries from the first (109 entries) and second (61 entries) contests.
Among the applicants, 27% were male and 73% were female. Adults and teenagers accounted for 80% and 20%, respectively. Domestic participants made up 87% of the total, while foreigners accounted for 13%. Among domestic participants, those from Gyeonggi Province represented the highest proportion at 31%, followed by Seoul and North Gyeongsang at 20% and 19%, respectively. Foreign participants came from 14 countries, including Taiwan, the Philippines, and the United States.
To ensure fairness in the judging process, the panel will consist of six external judges, with no internal BMC members. The winners will be announced on the Arpina website on October 30. The awards ceremony will be held at BMC Hall on November 6, and selected participants will receive a total of 22.4 million KRW worth of prizes and awards.
