Jeongbeopsa Temple was established in 1912 during the Japanese colonial period to save the oppressed Korean people, unite national strength, and improve the people's livelihoods. The Memorial Ceremony for Past Patriarchs and the Manbal Offering were prepared to honor past patriarchs, including the temple's founder, Grand Seon Master Guha, and the first missionary, Grand Seon Master Gyeongbong, as well as to commemorate the completion of the "Ten Thousand Buddha Enshrinement" project, which has been ongoing since 2001.
In particular, the event featured an exhibition of more than ten types of temple dumplings from the Goryeo Dynasty to the present, and attendees were offered mandu soup with dumplings, tofu, and rice cakes. In addition, the Yeongchuk Tea Ceremony Group of Jeongbeopsa Temple hosted a mandagongyang (dumpling offering), and an invitational exhibition was held at the Jeonghae Art Museum.
Mayor Hong stated, "I hope this founding dharma meeting will serve as an opportunity to move forward based on history and tradition. Changwon City will also strive to become a beacon of light in our society so that the Buddha's message of compassion and peace can be widely spread to every dark corner of the region."
