Pukyong National University Students Win Grand Prize at LINC 3.0 Startup Idea Competition
Two Teams Win Awards at the Southeast Region LINC 3.0 Startup Nomad Camp and Idea Competition
Pukyong National University (President Jang Youngsoo) announced on the 2nd that the team led by student Park Byungkwan (Department of Systems Management and Safety Engineering) and the team led by student Park Yeji (Department of Biomedical Engineering) won the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award, respectively, at the '2024 Southeast Region LINC 3.0 Startup Nomad Camp & Idea Competition.'

View original imageThis competition, held from June 28 to 31 in various locations throughout Taipei, Taiwan, was attended by about 200 participants from 14 universities operating the Southeast Region LINC 3.0 project groups, including Pukyong National University. The program included team formation, mentoring, and presentations.
At this competition, the team led by Park Byungkwan from Pukyong National University (supervising professor Lee Unsik) received the Grand Prize (Ulsan Mayor's Award) for their startup idea: 'Eco-friendly oral cleansing wipes for promoting oral health, made by recycling agricultural by-products (corn by-products),' which aims to solve oral hygiene problems for vulnerable groups.
This idea was also recognized as one of the solutions to the increasing number of gum and dental disease patients, earning the Special Award (Director of the Taipei Office of the Busan Branch Award).
In addition, the team led by Park Yeji (supervising professor Nam Seungyun) proposed a startup idea for a 'one-touch portable air splint (AIR SPLINT)' that allows hikers, campers, soldiers, and emergency rescuers to provide rapid first aid and enhance safety, winning the Excellence Award (Southeast Region Council President's Award). This idea received excellent evaluations and is expected to become an essential item in hiking culture.
Ryu Jiyeol, head of the LINC 3.0 project group at Pukyong National University, said, "Through this competition, we will continue to share outstanding startup items from the 14 participating universities in the Southeast Region LINC 3.0 project group and use this as an opportunity to form a startup network among universities. We also plan to further expand collaborative sharing in connection with local governments in the future."
