Vacant for 7 Months Following Former President Kim Jang-sil's Resignation in January
The Korea Tourism Organization announced a public notice and began the open recruitment process for the president selection on the 13th. Currently, the Tourism Organization has had the president position vacant for seven months.

In the public recruitment notice for the president, the Tourism Organization listed the qualifications as △ leadership △ ability to present a vision △ possession of knowledge and experience in the tourism sector △ organizational management and business capabilities.
The president of the Tourism Organization is appointed by the President of the Republic upon the recommendation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, following an open recruitment and evaluation by the organization's executive recommendation committee.
Since former president Kim Jang-sil resigned mid-term in January to run for the general election, the president position at the Tourism Organization has remained vacant for seven months.
In political circles, there are talks that former presidential office policy and public relations secretary Kang Hoon, who recently resigned, is being strongly considered as the new president.
