Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Shin Hanul Unit 1, Turbine Automatic Shutdown
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head: Lee Seyong) announced, "At approximately 7:07 a.m. on August 1, the turbine of Shin Hanul Unit 1 (1.4 million kW class) automatically shut down."
Shin Hanul Unit 1 is currently being stably maintained at about 40% reactor output, and it has been determined that the turbine stopped due to a false low-voltage signal in the control rod control system, which is one of the protection signals.
This is an equipment failure unrelated to the safety system, and Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters plans to resume power generation after repairing the relevant equipment.
