Gyeonggi-do Conducts Year-Round Food Waste Reduction... Donation Funds Accumulated Upon Goal Achievement
Gyeonggi Province will conduct a year-round campaign to reduce food waste.
On the 1st, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will convert its event-based food waste reduction campaigns, such as "No Leftover Day" and the "Relay Certification Shot Event," which have been ongoing since February, into a permanent system.
According to the campaign results from February 19 to July 11, the average amount of leftover food per person on event days was 55g, which is 25g less than the overall average of 79g.
Starting from the 31st of last month, Gyeonggi Province has been running the "Challenge! Zero Leftovers!" campaign, where restaurant users who achieve leftover amounts below the target (daily leftover amount per user) receive 10% of their meal cost credited and donated to organizations supporting children facing hunger.
