Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing at Kyungnam College of Information Technology Wins Grand Prize and Excellence Award at Korean Dikasi Poets Association Contest
Kyungnam College of Information & Technology announced that students from its Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing received the Grand Prize and Excellence Award at the '2024 Dikasi Summer Poet School' Dikasi Contest, hosted by the Korea Dikasi Poets Association.

View original imageDikasi is a compound word of 'dica' (digital camera) and 'si' (poetry), referring to a digital literary genre where a poem of five lines or less is shared along with a photograph in real time via online literary platforms such as Brunch Story.
At this event held at the Centum Campus of Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, Kang Seunghee (first-year student, Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing, age 49) won the Grand Prize with the work 'Alzheimer City,' while Baek Unok (first-year student, Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing, age 58) received the Excellence Award with the work 'Baram Matda.' In particular, the Grand Prize winner was also given the honor of debuting as a Dikasi poet.
In her acceptance speech, Kang Seunghee said, "It is an honor to have encountered a new form of literature in the Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology and to have won the Grand Prize at a national competition. I will continue to devote myself to the new literary genre of Dikasi."
The Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology has signed an agreement with the Korea Dikasi Poets Association and is gaining great popularity among active seniors by focusing on digital literary education centered on writing, photography, and illustration for adult learners.
