On the 18th, Suwon City held the "2024 First Half Child Meal Committee Deliberation" at the small conference room in the management building of Suwon Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market, and announced on the 19th that it decided to support meals for 28 children in welfare blind spots.
Ahead of the summer vacation, Suwon City conducted a full survey of 3,417 children eligible for meal support and identified 83 children at risk of missing meals.
At the deliberation, the Child Meal Committee decided to provide meal support to 28 children who did not meet the meal support criteria but were judged to need meals due to the risk of missing meals.
Currently, Suwon City provides meals to 1,372 children using the G Dream Card and 1,791 children attending local children's centers.
A Suwon City official stated, "The child meal support project is an essential program to prevent meal skipping among growing children and improve their nutritional status," adding, "We will actively identify children at risk of missing meals and provide meal support to help children grow up healthy in both body and mind."

Established in 2005, the Child Meal Committee deliberates on matters such as investigating and selecting children eligible for meal support and checking and improving the progress of the child meal project. It consists of 13 members, including 3 ex officio members and 10 appointed members.
