'World No. 2' Rory McIlroy Participates... Genesis Scottish Open Kicks Off
Europe's most prestigious golf tournament, the '2024 Genesis Scottish Open,' opens on the 11th in Scotland.
Held at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, the tournament will take place over four days from the 11th to the 14th of this month. A total of 156 players from the DP World Tour, the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Tour, and the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Korean Tour will participate.
This year's tournament features a large number of world-class players, including last year's champion Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, and Viktor Hovland.
Kim Joo-hyung (world ranking 16), who is active on the PGA Tour, will also participate, along with 2023 Genesis Championship winner Park Sang-hyun, 2023 Genesis Points winner Ham Jeong-woo, and 2023 Genesis Points runner-up Lee Jung-hwan, who are invited Genesis players.

The winner will receive a prize of 1.4 million dollars along with a GV70 electric model as a trophy. Additionally, the player and caddie who record the first hole-in-one on the 17th hole will each be awarded a GV70 electric model and a GV60, respectively.
Genesis is supporting the smooth operation of the tournament by providing 163 Genesis vehicles. Furthermore, 12 Genesis vehicles, including the GV60, will be displayed throughout the Renaissance Club to offer spectators an engaging experience.
This year, a special participatory hole-in-one event called the '6th Hole Stadium Experience' has been newly introduced. Spectators on-site will have the opportunity, on a first-come, first-served basis, to watch players' tee shots from special seats next to the tee box of the signature 6th hole within the tournament venue. The player who records the first hole-in-one on the 6th hole will be awarded a GV60, and the spectator matched with that player will receive an invitation package to the Genesis Championship to be held in Korea this October.
