KHNP Shin Hanul Unit 2 Resumes Power Generation and Reaches Normal Operation Output
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head: Lee Seyong) announced that Shin Hanul Unit 2 (pressurized water reactor type, 1.4 million kW class), which had been shut down due to a turbine abnormality on June 20, has reached 100% output after analyzing the cause of the malfunction.
Shin Hanul Unit 2 took corrective measures for the turbine control system, which was the cause of the turbine shutdown, and prepared follow-up measures to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
Shin Hanul Unit 2 resumed power generation at 23:19 on June 26, maintained 90% output to ensure transmission safety, and reached 100% output at 01:40 on July 9.
