Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head: Lee Seyong) announced that Shin Hanul Unit 2 (pressurized water reactor type, 1.4 million kW class), which had been shut down due to a turbine abnormality on June 20, has reached 100% output after analyzing the cause of the malfunction.
Shin Hanul Unit 2 took corrective measures for the turbine control system, which was the cause of the turbine shutdown, and prepared follow-up measures to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
Shin Hanul Unit 2 resumed power generation at 23:19 on June 26, maintained 90% output to ensure transmission safety, and reached 100% output at 01:40 on July 9.
The Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters will continue to do its best to ensure the safe operation of the nuclear power plant and will transparently disclose any unusual matters related to the power plant.
