"All Hidden SW Masters Gathered" Hyundai Mobis Successfully Concludes Algorithm Competition
Hyundai Mobis announced on the 8th that it successfully concluded the '2024 Hyundai Mobis Algorithm Competition.' In the final competition, where 100 selected participants advanced from over 3,700 applicants, hidden masters of domestic software (SW) engaged in fierce competition.
Hyundai Mobis revealed that in the finals held on the 5th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Kang Taegyu (Department of Computer Engineering, Seoul National University) from the student division and Lee Sangyeop (graduate of Department of Statistics, Seoul National University) from the general division were honored as the ultimate winners. Each of them was awarded an Ioniq 5 electric vehicle as a prize.
The Hyundai Mobis Algorithm Competition is a contest where participants solve problems and submit source code within a limited time using four programming languages (C, C++, JAVA, Python). Nearly 4,000 applicants challenged the preliminary round. In the finals held last weekend, 50 participants from the student division and 50 from the general division were selected, making a total of 100 contestants competing in skills.

The total prize money amounts to 170 million KRW. The gold prize (1st place) received the latest electric vehicle, while the silver and bronze prizes were awarded 10 million KRW and 5 million KRW respectively. Various other prizes and benefits were also given to participants who achieved excellent results.
Hyundai Mobis offers preferential treatment in recruitment, such as exemption from document screening, to top-ranking winners. Ahead of the second half recruitment, networking programs including expert lectures and exchanges with current employees are being operated for finalists, and an internship system is also being considered.

A Hyundai Mobis official stated, "The core of competitiveness in the future mobility market, symbolized by autonomous driving, electrification, and connectivity, is directly linked to SW development capabilities," adding, "We plan to fully focus on securing excellent SW talent by conducting various recruitment-linked campaigns."
