BabyMonster Surpasses 6 Million YouTube Subscribers... 'In Just One and a Half Years Since Launch'
July 1st New Song Release Announcement: 'FOREVER'
The group 'BabyMonster' has surpassed 6 million subscribers on YouTube.
According to their agency YG Entertainment on the 25th, BabyMonster exceeded 6 million subscribers about a year and a half after launching their official YouTube channel.
YouTube subscribers are considered an indicator of a loyal fandom within the global music market. BabyMonster, who gathered fans through a reality show showcasing the team formation process, had already reached 4 million subscribers before their debut.
YG explained that the subscriber growth accelerated sharply after the official debut song "SHEESH" was released on April 1. More than 10,000 new subscribers have been steadily added daily, and as they began full-scale activities such as music shows, their live performance skills have driven their popularity, the agency added.
Including music videos, there are currently four videos that have surpassed 100 million views. Content including performance videos and behind-the-scenes footage has accumulated over 2 billion views in total.
On the 1st of next month, BabyMonster is set to release a new song titled "FOREVER." Earlier, YG's chief producer Yang Hyun-suk announced that one track from the upcoming full-length album would be pre-released in early July, suggesting this is part of the related project.
