Mars Arisel Factory Fire Investigation Headquarters Joint On-Site Inspection on the 25th
The investigation headquarters for the fire incident at the Arisel factory in Hwaseong, under the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency, announced on the 24th that a joint inspection with the fire department, the National Forensic Service, the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency is planned from 10:30 AM on the 25th.
More than 30 personnel from six organizations will participate in this inspection, aiming to determine the exact cause of the fire. The police have formed an investigation headquarters consisting of 130 members, including 35 from the Criminal Mobile Unit, 25 detectives from Hwaseong West Police Station, 35 from the Forensic Science Unit, and 25 from the Victim Protection Division.

Earlier, a fire broke out at 10:31 AM on the same day at the Arisel factory, a primary battery manufacturer located in Jeongok-ri, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong City. The fire resulted in 22 deaths, 8 people sustaining serious and moderate injuries, and 1 person reported missing.
