Polaris Office Group Presents Pharmaceutical and AI Integration Strategy at PIKA Seminar... Showcases Vertical AI Case Studies
Polaris Office Group announced on the 21st that it presented a technology innovation strategy through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the pharmaceutical industry at a seminar hosted by the Pharmaceutical Information Knowledge Association (PIKA).
PIKA was established with the purpose of leading the informatization of the pharmaceutical industry, including the establishment of a pharmaceutical distribution information system. It brings together IT managers from leading domestic pharmaceutical companies to exchange rapidly changing IT information.
The seminar held at Justco Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was attended by representatives from 44 pharmaceutical companies and industry stakeholders. The seminar lectures were delivered by Woobyeongsoo, Director of Zoom Korea, and Lee Haeseok, Chief AI Officer (CAIO) of Polaris Office Group.
Lee Haeseok, CAIO, stated, “AI is a mega trend that can bring work innovation across industries. In the pharmaceutical industry, one of the important tasks is the analysis of materials such as overseas papers and patents, which can be revolutionarily streamlined by utilizing Polaris Office’s AI document solution technology.”
Polaris Office is selling 'Polaris Office AI,' which allows easy document editing and AI functionality on PCs, smartphones, and tablets, both domestically and internationally. It enables document creation, summarization, and translation using AI. The company is seeking differentiation through specialized (vertical) AI models tailored to each industry sector.
Lee, CAIO, added, “We will lead work innovation across the pharmaceutical industry through proactively secured AI technology and will promote projects to activate AI in the pharmaceutical industry together with Polaris AI Pharma, a raw pharmaceutical materials specialist company.”

Polaris Office Group acquired raw pharmaceutical materials manufacturer Estec Pharma in March and changed its name to Polaris AI Pharma. Additionally, to integrate AI technology into its affiliates with diverse business portfolios, Lee Haeseok, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Polaris Office, was appointed as the group’s CAIO.
