The Manhwa Museum’s ‘Smart Docent’ service consists of two types: an AR app-based docent and a QR audio docent.
The AR docent can be played by pointing the exhibition hall with the Manhwa Museum’s AR docent dedicated app (AR TOWN), which uses augmented reality (AR) technology, at yellow markers installed throughout the permanent exhibition hall. Taking advantage of the museum’s characteristics, characters representing Korean manhwa such as Dokgo Tak, Fairy Pink, Raiphai, and Mr. Son appear on the screen to assist with explanations.
The QR audio docent service started on May 22, 2024. By pointing a smartphone camera at the QR guide panels in the exhibition hall for ▲Chronological Introduction, ▲Ttaengi’s Comic Shop, ▲Park Ki-jung Hall, and ▲Webtoon Zone, visitors are connected to accessible links without the need to install a separate app, allowing anyone to use it conveniently.
In particular, to let visitors feel the unique charm of the Manhwa Museum, the audio docent is dubbed with the voice of voice actor Kang Su-jin, who has played various leading roles such as Kang Baek-ho from the animated Slam Dunk, Luffy from One Piece, and Inuyasha from Inuyasha, adding familiarity and enjoyment for visitors.
