Min Hyung-bae "Prosecution Fabricates by Denying the Facts"
The Democratic Party of Korea has decided to push for the impeachment of senior prosecutors who investigated Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Jang Kyung-tae, Chairman of the Democratic Party's Committee for Countermeasures Against Prosecutorial Dictatorship Political Oppression, and Min Hyung-bae are explaining the facts about Kim Sung-tae, former chairman of Ssangbangwool, including his criminal record related to the 'Ssangbangwool North Korea remittance' at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, on the morning of the 20th.

Min Hyung-bae, a Democratic Party lawmaker and head of the party's Special Countermeasure Team on Political Prosecution Case Fabrication, told reporters at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul on the 20th, "We have started drafting the impeachment motion against the prosecutors this week," adding, "Some of the motions were already prepared during the 21st National Assembly, so it won't take long to proceed with the impeachment."
The targets of the Democratic Party's impeachment motion are senior prosecutors who led investigations into cases involving Lee, such as the Daejang-dong and Baekhyeon-dong development scandals and the Ssangbangwool Group's alleged remittance to North Korea. Min said, "If the prosecution punishes (Kim Sung-tae, former chairman of Ssangbangwool Group) for stock manipulation, then the claim that Ssangbangwool Group covered the North Korea visit expenses for Gyeonggi Province cannot be made," adding, "He actually has a record of stock manipulation, so why is the prosecution not punishing him?" Furthermore, he emphasized, "What we are focusing on is why the prosecution fabricates facts, claiming that the North Korea visit expenses were covered by Gyeonggi Province when they are not," and added, "For example, they have not properly punished violations of the National Security Act or the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act."

Democratic Party lawmaker Jang Kyung-tae said on YTN Radio's 'News Fighting' on the same day, "The legislative branch must play a role in addressing the prosecution's abuse of indictment rights," and added, "Prosecutors who abused public authority must be impeached." He continued, "The National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee can exercise administrative investigation rights," and said, "The committee should activate administrative investigation rights, similar to a state audit, to investigate why prosecutors abused their indictment rights and the specific allegations of such abuse."
