Opening of the 'Digital Archive' Containing Bank of Korea's Own Records
The Bank of Korea announced on the 3rd the opening of the 'Bank of Korea Digital Archive,' which allows the general public to easily search and access records held by the bank online.
The archive contains over 10,000 items of important documents and publications produced by the Bank of Korea since its establishment in 1950, all digitally converted and included.
Among the included materials are some related to the Joseon Bank, collected by the Bank of Korea for research on Korea's modern central banking system and related topics.
Through the Digital Archive, various historical materials and explanatory documents concerning the evolution of the central banking system since modern times, the historical flow of domestic and international economies, and the resulting changes in economic policies are provided, which is expected to aid both academic economic history research and the general public's economic knowledge enhancement.
