Choi Si-don, chairman of Simtek, a semiconductor printed circuit board (PCB) development and manufacturing company, has officially taken office as the chairman of the Korea PCB and Semiconductor Packaging Industry Association (KPCA). Chairman Choi expressed his ambition to "enhance the domestic and international status of the association."

View original imageOn the 27th, KPCA held its regular general meeting at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Songdo, Incheon, and appointed the 9th chairman of the association. About 70 people attended the meeting, including KPCA Chairman Jeong Cheol-dong and former chairman Kim Kyung-hee.
Regarding the background of the new chairman's appointment, KPCA stated, "Simtek has continuously shown interest in the PCB industry and the association and has attended the KPCA Show exhibition every year," adding, "We hope that during Chairman Choi's term, the association's capacity to expand its scope, including attracting semiconductor packaging industry member companies, will be strengthened."

In his inaugural speech, Chairman Choi said, "We will revitalize association-led events such as the KPCA exhibition and activate domestic and international information support to strengthen industrial competitiveness," adding, "We will work to expand opportunities to participate in national projects and increase opportunities for process technology education, as well as establish a PCB certification system for fostering professional personnel."
