On the 25th, Cheonan City in Chungnam announced that it has commenced administrative work for the 22nd National Assembly election and the by-election for Cheonan City Council members.
To prepare for the 22nd National Assembly election and the Cheonan City Council by-election scheduled for the 10th of next month, the city completed the compilation of the voter list and the registration of absentee and overseas voting applications from the 19th to the 23rd of this month.
As a result of compiling the voter list, the number of voters for the 22nd National Assembly election and the Cheonan City Council by-election was 552,965, with 725 registered absentee voters.
This represents an increase of 15,936 voters compared to the 537,029 voters in the 21st National Assembly election. The number of registered absentee voters was 725, which is 50 fewer than the 775 registered absentee voters in the 21st National Assembly election.
Absentee voter registrations will be finalized after the final review by the relevant election commission, and the voter list will be confirmed on the legal deadline of the 29th of this month.
