Ulsan City Launches Crackdown on Overloaded Vehicles... Dedicated Department Activated
Campaign to Prevent Overloading and Overrunning
Ulsan City will begin full-scale crackdowns on overloaded vehicles starting from the 25th.
The crackdown targets vehicles exceeding a total weight of 40 tons, axle load of 10 tons, and vehicles exceeding 16.7 meters in length, 2.5 meters in width, or 4.0 meters in height including the cargo.
The enforcement will be conducted year-round while moving through areas with habitual overloaded vehicle traffic. Joint crackdowns will also be carried out at night and on weekends in cooperation with the police and related agencies to enhance enforcement effectiveness.
Violating vehicles caught during the crackdown will be fined up to 3 million KRW depending on the violation and the number of offenses.
Lee Byung-jun, Director of the General Construction Headquarters, stated, “Overloaded vehicles damage roads and can cause major accidents with greater casualties when accidents occur,” emphasizing a strict penalty policy.

On the 25th and 26th, Ulsan City will conduct an overloaded vehicle operation prevention campaign by posting banners and distributing promotional materials on main truck routes, large-scale construction sites, truck parking lots, and rest areas.
