Boseong Cherry Blossom Festival to be Held on the 30th

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the "11th Boseong Cherry Blossom Festival" on the 30th at the Boseong County Baekmin Art Museum area.

Celebrating its 11th year, the Boseong Cherry Blossom Festival is organized by the Boseong Cherry Blossom Festival Promotion Committee (Chairperson Jo Yeon-ok) and takes place along a 5.5km royal cherry tree tunnel from Juksan 1-ri to Daewonsa in Mundeok-myeon, which was selected as one of the "100 Beautiful Roads in Korea."

On the day of the festival, events such as a pungmul performance by the Mundeok Nongakdan, a stage performance by local artists, a commemorative ceremony, saxophone performance, Boseong County Gugakdan performance, and a cherry blossom singing contest will be held.

Unlike last year, this year's festival will create a car-free street by restricting vehicles from the entrance of the royal cherry blossom tunnel to the event site, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the spring atmosphere on foot. It takes 25 minutes on foot and 3 minutes by bus to reach the event site, and shuttle buses will operate from the parking lot to the event site for visitors' convenience.

Additionally, the deck path extending from the entrance of the royal cherry tree tunnel to the mid-point event site offers an optimal walking course where visitors can take in the full view of the Juwamho Reservoir landscape at full water level and the cherry blossom path. Various photo zones have been set up along the route for commemorative photos.

At the event site, local residents will operate traditional food restaurants and specialty product promotion booths.

To eradicate overcharging at the event site, a real-name system for booths and reasonable price displays will be implemented to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors both visually and gastronomically.

Jo Yeon-ok, Chairperson of the Boseong Cherry Blossom Festival Promotion Committee, said, "We will accelerate preparations so that visitors to the Boseong Cherry Blossom Festival can feel the warm atmosphere of spring." She added, "We hope everyone will take memorable cherry blossom photos of their lives in the Boseong royal cherry tree tunnel to remember the spring of 2024."

Meanwhile, a free Boseong green tea tasting event will be held at the information booth, and the "47th Boseong Dahyang Grand Festival," held under the theme "The Temptation of a Thousand-Year Tea, Boseong's Proposal" from May 3 to 7 for five days, will also be promoted.
