Gongju Tancheon District Selected for Multipurpose Rural Water Development Project
Installation of 2 Pumping Stations and 41.06 km of Transmission Pipelines
Jeong Jin-seok, a member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party, announced on the 22nd that the 'Gongju Tancheon District' has been selected as a new project site for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' multi-purpose rural water development project, with a total project cost of 47 billion KRW.
This project is an agricultural environment improvement initiative aimed at securing a stable water supply and promoting the production of local agricultural products.
Accordingly, the Tancheon District will have 2 pumping stations, 4 sections of water transmission pipelines totaling 10.6 km, and 34 sections of water channels totaling 40.8 km installed.
Assemblyman Jeong said, "The Tancheon District project was difficult to include in the 2022 government budget and has now started," adding, "We have made continuous efforts to ensure that farmers receive a stable supply of clean and clear agricultural water."
