Yang Bu-nam "Severe Traffic Congestion on 'Gwangju Seochang Nuljae-ro' Requires Environmental Improvement"
Yang Bu-nam, a preliminary candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea for Seo-gu (Eul), Gwangju Metropolitan City, proposed policies for local traffic safety.
On the 18th, Candidate Yang stated that traffic congestion near 'Seochang Nonghyup~Baekma Intersection' must be resolved and pedestrian safety secured.
Nuljaero, a major 2.5 km traffic route connecting Pungseo-ro and Hoejae-ro, is mostly composed of two-lane roads in both directions, causing severe congestion.
Also, although Songhak Elementary School is adjacent to this section and there is a large elderly population, there are no sidewalks, or farm roads serve as pedestrian paths, indicating a need for improvement in the pedestrian environment.
Candidate Yang said, “To resolve traffic congestion near Seochang Nonghyup~Baekma Intersection, the lanes must be expanded,” adding, “Along with road expansion, we will also strive to improve the pedestrian environment to ensure citizens’ safety.”
