Busan Office of Education Launches Innovation in 'Question-Based Teaching'!
Development and Distribution of the Resource Book 'Applying Lessons and Assessments with Living Questions'
Includes Development of Questions by Student Level and Lesson Stage to Specify Learning Objectives
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) will distribute the booklet titled "Applying Lessons and Assessments Where Questions Come Alive," developed to activate "questioning classes," to middle and high schools within the district.
The "questioning classes," promoted by the Busan Office of Education as part of class innovation, aim to realize classes where ▲ students' voluntary questioning and discussions become routine ▲ interactions through questions between teachers and students, and among students themselves, are lively.
Since November last year, the city education office has formed a development team of 60 members, including lead teachers by subject and outstanding teaching staff, to develop the materials.
This booklet consists of six types for middle school and five types for high school, covering all subjects such as Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies/History/Ethics, Science/Technology/Home Economics, and Physical Education/Music/Art.
It contains theories on the necessity of questioning classes, types of questions, question-based lesson design methods, a 9 to 12-session teaching-learning process plan, assessment plans, and examples of entries for school life records.
In particular, it includes various types of questions such as core questions that specify learning objectives, customized questions considering students' levels, and step-by-step questions for the three stages of "introduction-development-summary."
Additionally, to enable immediate use during open classes in the field, two types of question-based teaching-learning guidance forms and a class observation record structured according to the latest teaching directions are also included.
