Mid-sized Enterprises Sector: "Top Priority for Next National Assembly is Economic Revitalization"

It was suggested that the 22nd National Assembly must accelerate legislative activities to resolve corporate financial difficulties in order to drive active investment by companies as a key engine for the re-leap of the Korean economy.
The Korea Association of Mid-sized Enterprises (KAMEX) announced this on the 7th while releasing the results of the "Expectations for the 22nd National Assembly - Mid-sized Enterprises Opinion Survey." The survey was conducted from January 15 to February 16, targeting 166 mid-sized companies.
In this survey, six out of ten mid-sized companies (59.6%) answered that the top priority task for the next National Assembly is "economic revitalization." This was followed by "social integration and conflict resolution (15.7%)," "strengthening economic diplomacy and security (12.1%)," "enhancing public welfare (6.6%)," and "respect for the constitution and implementation of the rule of law (3.0%)."
The mid-sized enterprise sector expressed a strong desire for the 22nd National Assembly to be one that "revives the economy (40.4%)." Next, they hoped for a National Assembly that "focuses on stabilizing people’s livelihoods (22.3%)," "sees bipartisan compromise and cooperation (21.1%)," and "takes responsibility (12.0%)."
Additionally, mid-sized businesspeople responded that for the solidification of the "Mid-sized Enterprises Act," which was converted into a permanent law last year and is currently under revision, it is essential to include "support for workforce supply and long-term employee retention (31.9%)," as well as "strengthening financial support measures to create smooth funding conditions (22.3%)," "establishment of a dedicated growth fund for mid-sized enterprises to enhance corporate competitiveness (21.7%)," and "expansion of tax support for mid-sized enterprises (16.9%)."
Regarding the 21st National Assembly, 65.1% of mid-sized enterprises answered that it "did poorly." Only 5.4% responded that it "did well." As for expectations for the 22nd National Assembly, 27.1% answered that their expectations are "high."

Lee Ho-jun, the full-time vice chairman of KAMEX, stated, "Based on a consensus for innovation through communication with companies, I earnestly hope that the National Assembly will stop wasteful political strife and unite across party lines to focus on legislation for stabilizing people’s livelihoods and revitalizing the Korean economy for its re-leap."
