Starting this year, the invitation scope has been expanded to include groups of people with visual, physical, and developmental disabilities.
The foreigner-targeted program, which mainly involved international students and foreigners living near the museum, will also expand its participation target this year to include multicultural families such as marriage immigrants and foreign workers.
Interpretation will be provided not only in English, Chinese, and Japanese but also in Korean for native family members of multicultural families. Special exhibition viewings and traditional cultural experience activities will also be arranged.
To strengthen regional cooperation, the museum plans to provide exhibition interpretation training throughout the year on an as-needed basis for regional national, public, and private museums. Professional interpreters affiliated with the National Museum of Korea will visit the applying institutions directly to share the basic attitudes and methods of museum exhibition interpretation with volunteers and staff, offering opportunities to improve the quality of exhibition interpretation services at regional museums.
