Gwanghwamun Station Staff Finds Owner of 5 Million Won Left on Train
You Must Identify and Report Lost Location and Time Information
If you left an item on the train, the most important thing is to first confirm the location and time where you lost the item. Before reporting the lost item to the staff, accurately checking the train's disembarkation time and direction, as well as the boarding and alighting locations, will help in quickly locating the lost item. At around 8:20 a.m. that day, a phone call came into Gwanghwamun Station. The urgent voice was a lost item report from passenger A, who said they had left 5 million won in cash on the train. Deputy Manager Kim Kyung-soo calmly explained and confirmed the exact boarding information to the flustered customer.
Although it was a busy rush hour, the deputy manager and staff immediately tracked the train number and location to search for the lost item. Shortly after, they received a call from Majang Station staff reporting that they had found a bag containing cash. Deputy Manager Kim contacted passenger A and guided them to retrieve the lost bag at Majang Station. Grateful for recovering the nearly lost 5 million won, passenger A expressed thanks to the Gwanghwamun Station staff through the Voice of Customers.

Kim Seok-ho, Head of Operations at Seoul Metro, said, “The company promotes ways to find lost items through various channels such as route maps and social media. If you lose something on the train, do not panic; instead, identify the location of loss, boarding and alighting points, and the train disembarkation time, then report it to the staff for prompt assistance.”
