The second round of high oil price damage support payments, which will provide up to 250,000 won per person to 70% of the population, will begin tomorrow (the 18th) at 9 a.m. through both online and offline channels.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 17th that the second round of high oil price damage support payments will be available from 9 a.m. on the 18th until 6 p.m. on July 3, for approximately seven weeks, both online and offline. During the first week of the application period, a weekday system based on the last digit of the applicant’s year of birth will be implemented.

Eligible recipients who did not apply during the first round application and payment period (April 27 to May 8) may still apply during this second round.
Online applications will be accepted 24 hours a day. Offline applications will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays (until 4 p.m. at bank branches).
People wishing to receive the support as a mobile or card-type regional gift certificate can apply online via the regional gift certificate application or website of the local government in charge of their registered address.
Those who prefer to receive a paper regional gift certificate or prepaid card can visit the local administrative welfare center (community center, town or township office) for their registered address, present their ID, and apply for and receive the support payment. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has requested that all local governments prepare at least one type of offline payment method (regional gift certificate or prepaid card).
The high oil price damage support payment can be used for more than three months, until August 31. Residents of special/metropolitan cities (including Sejong and Jeju) can use it within their respective city, while residents of provinces (do) can use it within the city or county of their registered address. Those receiving the payment via credit/debit card or prepaid card can use it at small businesses with annual sales of 3 billion won or less, except for certain industries such as entertainment and gambling.
A procedure for filing objections has also been established for those who disagree with the eligibility results or support amount. Objection applications will be accepted from the 18th until July 17th.
Objections can be submitted online via the e-People petition portal or offline at local administrative welfare centers. As with the support payment application, a weekday system based on the last digit of the applicant’s year of birth will be implemented during the first week. The results of objections will be individually notified to applicants once the review is completed by the local government and the National Health Insurance Service.
For matters related to health insurance premiums, please contact the National Health Insurance Service. For information on the exclusion criteria for high-value asset holders, contact the tax department of your respective local government or the local tax office regarding property tax standards and financial income.
